Date Posted: 21/06/2013
Luxury Cotswolds hotel, the Old Swan & Minster Mill at Minster Lovell has created a two-night ‘Antique & History Trail’ experience, showcasing the area’s nearby historical interests and its large concentration of antique shops.
The Antique & History Trail experience, which can be tailor-made for groups, includes two nights’ accommodation, breakfast, a two-hour guided tour of Minster Lovell Hall Ruins, tickets to Blenheim Palace, and a three-course dinner with a talk from antiques specialist John Howard.
A weekend of history
Special interest parties can immerse themselves in a weekend of history.
As well as visiting the area’s many antique shops and galleries, you can explore the Minster Lovell Hall ruins - a short walk from the Old Swan & Minster Mill.
An organised talk from local history authoritarian, Graham Kew, will reveal how following the defeat of the House of York and death of Richard III in the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, the hall passed into the hands of the crown.
Your stay at the Old Swan & Minster Mill will also add to the history-themed weekend, with the old coaching inn believed to have been frequented by King Richard III himself.
Group travel organisers should contact the Old Swan & Minster Mill for booking details.
