National Theatre’s 2012 programme

The National Theatre has recently announced its forthcoming production schedule for the 2012 season.

Highlights include Enda Walsh’s Misterman, starring Cillian Murphy (pictured), which receives its London premiere in April, and Bernard Shaw’s The Doctor’s Dilemma in July, both staged at the Lyttelton Theatre.

The Olivier Theatre will present Sophocles’ Antigone at the end of May, followed by Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens in July, as part of the World Shakespeare Festival. An adaptation of Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, by Simon Stephens, will play at the Cottesloe Theatre also in July. Finally, in November, Timothy Sheader will make his NT directorial debut with Richard Bean’s new adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo.

The National Theatre offers discounted rates for group theatre bookings, for a minimum party size of eight people.
