VisitWiltshire’s group highlights for year ahead

Groups planning a visit to Wiltshire can look forward to a host of new attractions and exciting events planned for 2012.
Amongst the line-up of events and activities for groups to enjoy is the 2012 Torch Relay, plus the illumination of Wiltshire’s famous White Horses, an elemental fire garden at Stonehenge, and Le Concert du Feu in the medieval city of Salisbury.
Bowood House’s private walled gardens (pictured) will be open to visitors this coming season, and groups can take advantage of guided tours with its expert head Gardener. Speciality cruises along the Kennet & Avon Canal with Kenavon Venture are available, plus Longleat House and Gardens is set to unveil new guided tours, plus its new gorilla colony and giraffe watering hole. Additional new attractions include a trail around Salisbury Cathedral for fans of Ken Follett’s novels Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, with fast track entry for groups, plus Salisbury Cathedral’s Avenue of Champions, Olympic themed sculpture exhibition.
Further details of Wiltshire’s event highlights and new attractions are included in VisitWiltshire’s new Group Visits and Travel Trade Guide. Group travel organisers planning an overnight stay can take advantage of the group-friendly accommodation providers listed in the guide, all of which will provide one complimentary room for every 30 paying guests.
