Advice and Encouragement

Date Posted: 28/09/2011

I am attaching a couple of photos from our highly successful coffee morning at the end of July, when Steve Hornby from Success Tours came up to Nuneaton to do the presentation for not only northern Portugal - my 'fam' trip - but also Budapest and Floriade.

From the photos you can see we had an overwhelming number of members (132 which is a record for a coffee morning). By the end of the meeting I had 20 bookings for the Floriade coach trip alone, and one week later Floriade is full with a waiting list, Budapest has 28 bookings and Portugal 33.

At the September meeting I will be putting forward several suggestions for UK coach breaks, and the two most popular will be fleshed out and presented to the group by the tour operator(s) chosen in November at our social evening, when we also distribute our charity donations.

I hope you can find space to put this follow-up in the magazine, as it may give other GTOs ideas and encouragement to fill their own tours because I know some are finding it hard at present. I always listen to the group, drop ideas for holidays - rather like pebbles - into conversations and see how far the ripples go, and some do sink without trace. The best get put into action and you can see the results.
